1618 is a 1986 Mack R Model Tanker, delivering 3,000 gallons of water to support firefighting operations in rural and non-hydranted areas. Built on the dependable Mack R Model chassis and operated with a manual transmission, this tanker has served faithfully for decades. While it remains a critical part of our water supply strategy, a new Sutphen-built Kenworth tanker is currently on order and scheduled to arrive in 2027. The new unit will replace the aging Mack, ensuring enhanced performance, reliability, and support for modern fireground operations.
